Previous Shows: 2015: Significant Details: Jenny Fine
Jenny Fine engages a cross disciplinary practice, enlisting both contemporary and historical photographic processes, moving image, installation, and performance; often combining these forms in an openended act of storytelling. Her images and theatrical environments are inspired by her rural southern landscape and her family’s stories. Fine received her BFA from the University of Alabama in 2006 and her MFA from The Ohio State University in 2010. Fine, a 2012 Greater Columbus Arts Council artist-in-residence in Dresden, Germany, has shown her work in solo exhibitions at Geh8 in Dresden, Germany, The Sculpture Center in Cleveland, Ohio, and the Wiregrass Museum of Art in Dothan, Alabama. She has taught at The University of Alabama at Birmingham, The Ohio State University, the University of Geosciences in Wuhan, China, and has worked at Susana Homes Orphanage and Women’s Shelter in Nigeria, Africa. Fine was awarded a National Windgate Fellowship from the Center for Craft, Creativity and Design in 2006 and a Fergus Memorial Scholarship from OSU in 2009.
