Richard Rezac is a Visual Artist who lives and works in Chicago. He has received the Rome Prize Fellowship at the American Academy in Rome, Joan Mitchell Foundation Award, John Simon Guggenheim Fellowship, Louis Comfort Tiffany Award, Doran Artist Residency Fellowship at Yale University, Richard H. Driehaus Foundation Award and two Individual Artist Fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, among others.
Since 2000, he has had 18 solo exhibitions, including at the Portland Art Museum, Oregon, Rhona Hoffman Gallery, Chicago, Feature Inc. New York, Marc Foxx, Los Angeles, TWIG, Brussels, and James Harris Gallery, Seattle, West Virginia University Art Museum, and included in group exhibitions at the Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C., the Art Institute of Chicago, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, Tang Museum at Skidmore College, Yale University Art Gallery and the Kunstverein Recklinghausen, Germany, among many others.
His sculpture is in the public collections of The Art Institute of Chicago, Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, Dallas Museum of Art, Detroit Institute of Art, Portland Art Museum and Yale University Art Gallery, among others.
Richard Rezac is Adjunct Full Professor at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago both the Painting and Sculpture Departments.
