YOU WERE HERE
Here is recent work by 11 artists living in America. Variously conceived and executed it has in common a spaciousness of address that I find very attractive. Rather than reverse-engineering material to illustrate a central idea, these artists provide environments suitably nourishing for an audience to develop and evolve independently its own framework through which to see whatever they wish. This is both deeply generous and a rather shrewd risk. --PS
